Takashi Uno (Yohta Kawase, RUBBER'S LOVER) seeks little more than starlight bongo playing. After his uncle's passing, his newly divorced cousin inherits their rural home and assigns its care to the bashful Takashi. With the town's underdog grocer, they rekindle joyful childhood bonds, enjoying leisurely BBQs and cup noodles. Their idyllic life is disrupted when a Tokyo family, led by an unhinged patriarch (Kanji Tsuda, JU-ON: THE GRUDGE) and his enigmatic wife (Natsuki Mieda), arrives, intent on opening a countryside café. Director Tadashi Nagayama, a Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival protégé, subverts expectations with this mellow yet eccentric comedy exploring the right to idleness, Japan's urban-rural divide, and nuclear anxieties.
