Five rolls of original unsearched bankrolled pennies
I have accumulated pennies for the last 65 years. 20 years ago, I bought a 10 pound bag of wheat pennies, thinking that it would be something to go through with my future grandchildren.
When it was first reported that the mint might discontinue minting pennies, I went to my bank to obtain a $25 box of penny rolls. Included are five of those rolls.
Realizing that none of my grandchildren want to pursue this hobby – I’ve known for years that my adult children are not interested in it – I’ve decided to begin selling off my collection.
I opened up the 10 pound bag and began rolling the pennies. I don’t have the inclination – or the eyes – to search through them. Since a cursory look showed many of them to be 1940s and 50s, I made sure that each one of the rolls I wrapped had at least a few pre-1940 pennies in it from my own collection.
