From 2003, the chorus participated in the All-Japan Chorus Competition and the NHK National School Music Competition, reaching the national finals. In 2009, they received both the Minister of Education Award and the Kawai Encouragement Award. Also in 2009, Mr. Toyoda was selected for the Minister of Education's Commendation for Excellent Teachers, and he continues to achieve outstanding results.
