The 400 Micron Mesh is just the right size to allow the biology out, while keeping larger sediment in. Your compost tea will be easier to manage with a TeaLAB Brew Bag. Large Bag is sized to brew in a large vessel. Fill the bag only 1/4 full, so that the compost is able to loosely move around during the brew. This allows the microbes to knocked free from the compost and get into that brew.
