Product Description 3M Hookit Clean Sanding Low Profile Finishing Disc Pad is constructed of soft density foam with a 10 degree blunt tapered edge and is recommended for finishing applications on flat or contoured surfaces where dust evacuation is needed. Use this disc pad with grades 220 and higher 3M Clean Sanding or 3M Hookit D/F discs (sold separately). From the Manufacturer The 3M™ Clean Sanding Low Profile Finishing Disc Pad 20290 is 5" in diameter and constructed of 11/16" soft density foam with a 10 degree blunt tapered edge, has 44 holes, and is recommended for finishing applications on flat or contoured surfaces where dust evacuation is needed. Use this disc pad with grades 220 and higher 5" Clean Sanding or Hookit™ Dust-Free discs (sold separately). The soft density foam provides additional conformability and allows the disc to flex for longer abrasive life in loading applications. When used with a vacuum and a Clean Sanding abrasive disc, the series of 44 uniquely designed holes and channels allows dust to be pulled through the holes and away from the sanding surface to prevent loading, increase productivity, and provide a cleaner work environment. The disc pad has 5/16-24 external threads compatible with an orbital or random orbital sander. Max OPM and RPM is 12,000.3M's Clean Sanding dust-management system evacuates dust from the work surface better than 5- or 6-hole products, dramatically increasing disc life and maximizing cut-rate. Optimized with a self-generated vacuum sanding tool fitted with a Clean Sanding filter bag (sold separately), Clean Sanding products allow the vacuum to suction dust from the air and off of the workpiece. This reduces loading of the disc and adds life to the abrasive. Additionally, reducing dust in the air improves working conditions.
